"Nonograms, also known as Paint by Numbers, Picross, Griddlers, Pic-a-Pix, Hanjie, and various other names, are picture Logic puzzles that challenge your problem-solving skills.

In this puzzle type, you must strategically color or leave blank cells in a grid based on the numbers provided at the side of the grid. These numbers indicate how many unbroken lines of filled-in squares there are in each row or column. For example, a clue of '4 8 3' means there are sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, in that order, with at least one blank square between successive sets.

Strategy:

Simpler puzzles can usually be solved by reasoning on a single row or column at a time. Determine as many boxes and spaces as possible on that row or column before moving on to the next one. Repeat this process until all rows and columns have no undetermined cells left.

More difficult puzzles may require additional types of "what if?" reasoning that involve multiple rows or columns. Look for contradictions: if a cell cannot be a box because it would create an error in another cell, it must be a space. And vice versa. Advanced solvers can even delve deeper into "what if?" reasoning, although this approach can be time-consuming.
